Brooklyn Woman Wins $1,000,000 Mega Millions Prize

Sixty-six-year-old Amanda Caballero from Brooklyn has claimed a $1,000,000 Mega Millions second prize. Caballero matched the first five numbers drawn for the December 14, 2018 drawing making her Kings County’s newest Lottery millionaire.
“It’s very exciting,” Caballero said of her million dollar win.
The winning Mega Millions numbers for the December 14, 2018 drawing were 5-22-26-43-49 Mega Ball 23.
The $1,000,000 Mega Millions second prize is paid as a one-time lump sum payment. Caballero will receive a net check totaling $633,040 after required withholdings.
“I plan to invest and spend it as slowly as possible until retirement,” she said.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Doleh Supermarket on 8th Avenue in Brooklyn.
The New York Lottery contributed $1,337,283,719 in Lottery Aid to Education to school districts throughout the five boroughs of New York City during fiscal year 2017-2018.
