Long Island Man Wins $1M Powerball Second Prize

Michael Rodriguez of Westbury is the most recent winner of the $1 million Powerball second prize. Rodriguez matched the first five numbers drawn for the April 27, 2019 drawing.
“This is a big financial relief,” said Rodriguez.
The winning Powerball numbers for the April 27, 2019 drawing were 02-29-41-45-62 Powerball 03.
The $1 million Powerball second prize is paid out as a one-time lump sum payment. Rodriguez will receive a net check totaling $671,800 after required withholdings.
“I plan to use the money to pay off bills and retire in good shape,” he said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Kings Duffy C-Store on Old Country Road in Hicksville.
Rodriguez is the 8th New York Lottery player to claim a prize totaling $1 million or more this year.
The New York Lottery contributed $150,063,711 in Lottery Aid to Education to school districts in Nassau County during fiscal year 2018-2019.
